HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC – Midland (TEXAS)

Job Title: Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment/Forklift
Reports to: Regional Maintenance Director
Location: Midland, TX – Tenaris Facility
Job Type: Full-time | Day Shift
Pay: $32.00 – $35.00 per hour according to the candidate’s experience

 

We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic proficient in Heavy Equipment/forklift to join our team! You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various pieces of heavy equipment: forklifts and mules.
The Company could require work transfers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance through accurate equipment inspections, using a specific equipment checklist;
  • Knowledge and experience with diesel engine, hydraulic and electronical systems;
  • Troubleshoot various heavy equipment (forklift / trucks / front-end loaders);
  • Read electrical and hydraulic schematics;
  • Use the computer maintenance program to charge out parts and to track equipment services;
  • Be compliant to safety procedures and wear PPE according to instructions;

Technical Skills and general requirements:

At least a 5-year experience in:

  1. Advanced Diagnostics & Troubleshooting – Ability to quickly identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
  2. Hydraulic Systems Expertise – Deep understanding of hydraulic schematics, pumps, valves, and cylinders.
  3. Diesel Engine Repair & Maintenance – Proficiency with large diesel engines, fuel systems, and emissions technology.
  4. Electrical & Electronic Systems – Skilled in reading wiring diagrams, repairing harnesses, sensors, alternators, and controllers (CAN bus systems).
  5. Powertrain Systems – Knowledge of transmissions, drivetrains, axles, and torque converters.
  6. Preventative Maintenance – Scheduling and executing PMs to reduce downtime and extend machine life.
  7. Hydraulic and Pneumatic Tool Operation – Safe and efficient use of specialty tools for large machinery.
  8. Must have own tools and toolbox
  9. Valid driver’s license

Education:

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) required
  • Any related certifications/training (Electrical/Mechanical) is a plus
